Heart #4 is called "My Fluttering Heart"

The center is a simple ring of 9 rings with a chain inbetween.
First butterfly added.
And now there are two.
I finished it.  I made at three mistakes.  The half daisies on the sides are where I messed up.

I finished the outside frame. Now I am trying something new.  The butterfly in the center is called a Stacked Butterfly.  I am having problems understanding the instructions.  Hope to get it done soon.

I finished a stacked Butterfly last night and then promptly lost it.  I started another one because I wasn't please with the result.
I think I will find a flat butterfly pattern to put in the center, rather then putting this one hear.  Maybe I can use this butterfly for an earring.

 I
I learned this way of doing the last half of the split ring on Youtube.  It works great for me.

In this picture you can see I am almost done with the 3rd Daisy.

Finished all 3 daisies and I did the point of the heart and am now working on the border. Messed up on my closing of daisy #3.  So I have ends to hide.  Split rings up to the next daisy.

The finished Heart.  "Heart O' Daisies"
2 Done and 10 to go.

The 3rd one in the book is called "Heart Catcher" and has s 3-D butterfly in the middle.  It is considered Intermediate.

This one is mainly Split rings.  I am getting better and shaping them.  There is a knack to making them look like regular rings.

Here is the first Daisy in "Heart O' Daisies".  It ends with a split ring.

Split ring is used to jump to the second ring and gives a little space to form the top of the heart. Second daisy ends in a split ring to jump to the bottom daisy.
The book calls this a "Novice" pattern.  I don't consider split rings novice myself.

Finished the first heart called "Regal".
Made more then a couple of mistakes.

Next Heart in the book is called "Heart O' Daisies"

I have to look up what "LHK" means.  The book doesn't tell what that abrevation means.
I found the definition:  http://www.bellaonline.com/articles/art35288.asp
Lark's head knot.  The unflipped knot for the last half of a split ring.

I decided this morning to do a valentine themed Tat-a-thon.  I am going to work through the book "Tatting Hearts" by Teri Dusenbury.  There are 12 different hearts in this book.  Some label "novice", and some labeled "advanced".

So the first Heart in the patterns is called "Regal".  I have made it several times.

I am using DMC "Cebelia  size 20.  The white is my loops for hiding my ends.
We will see how far I get in the books by February 14th.

I have an Ebay Store where I have this book listed if you want to purchase it.
